In 2018, many people asked about the possibility of publishing a collective work on the subject of suicide. We are in the process of collecting texts, images and other forms of art which give a personal account of each individual´s experience regarding suicide.

“He committed suicide”. I never liked that phrase as it insinuates that an offence has taken place.
“He killed himself”. This one is quite brutal sounding and I never feel comfortable saying this.
“He took his own life”. This one sounds a bit melodramatic and I don’t like it either.
The truth is, my Dad decided that he no longer wanted to live. He decided that he no longer wanted to live in a world with me in it. He chose to leave me behind.
I know ! I really really know and I understand that depression doesn’t work like that. I know it doesn’t ! I know it because I have felt like I no longer want to live. I have been in that dark place where life was so difficult I didn’t want to be here, so I do know and I do understand.
I am a mother however. The one thing that stopped me was my children. I would never do that to them.
Why wasn’t I the one thing that stopped him? How could he do that to me?
He made this choice and I had no choice over it, and the ironic thing is, is that this heart stopping monumental event, has affected my mental health ever since.
People did kill themselves. That became a reality.
When my daughter was being bullied at school I was scared each morning going into her bedroom as there was a possibility that she may be dead.
When my son split up from his girlfriend I went in to his room each morning prepared for the fact that he may be dead.
When my child rings me stressed out about work or bills. I think, “what if he kills himself over this “
Suicide flits in and out of my mind with ease now. I see it, I hear it, I feel it. Its part of me.

Granny lives in the sky, sky granny. Grandad lives with her in the sky, sky grandad.
When I think of them long and hard they wave to me from up high.
Skygranny is transparent and shimmers like a jellyfish as she moves through the air. Skygrandad is like a voice, velvety and warm, and I know that they look over me and keep me safe from harm.
Someday I'd like to meet them and show them who I am. I'd like them to show me who they are too, to see where I come from.
For now I draw them letters and address them "to the sky", Dear Skygranny and Skygrandad living way up high.
Algún día me gustaría conocerles y enseñarles quien soy yo.

The fish swam slowly into the jar offered by the little girl, and the sea was just as blue; the waves still made the same sound as they dragged the pebbles down, underneath the surface; but nothing was the same any more.
How did it happen? The little girl wasn’t sure, but somehow, without realizing it, people had forgotten that it was alive, that it was important, that it was a part of them too.
Now it was dead, but a few fishes still lived there… so maybe it wasn’t completely dead after all.
“You are a magic fish”, the girl thought, “like in the story, but there is no treasure inside you, only plastic”.
The girl loved the fish and tried to force some magic rays out of her eyes, clenching her fists, clamping her teeth together and condensing her thoughts into a wilful, brain-bursting ray of power to change things - to give back life.
